THE MORNING DOVE WELCOMES ALL
 Ogunquit, Maine...
...a gay friendly travel desitination.
Seventy miles up the coast from Boston lies Ogunquit, Maine, a small seaside community as rich in culture as it is in history. Ogunquit, originally settled as a part of Wells in the mid-1600's, blossomed as a popular art colony and tourist destination in the late 1800s. In 1980, Ogunquit separated from Wells to become its own unique municipality.
Among the many inherent attractions are Ogunquit Beach, a three-and-a-half mile stretch of white sand and dunes; Perkins Cove, spanned by a manually-operated draw footbridge; and Marginal Way, a footpath that winds along the rocks and shore connecting Perkins Cove to the center of Ogunquit.
Many of Ogunquit's old Victorian homes have been carefully restored to house chic art galleries, trendy restaurants and clubs, and charming guest houses. The Morning Dove, situated just a few steps from Marginal Way, is among the finest and friendliest B&Bs Ogunquit has to offer.
In recent years, Ogunquit has become an inviting destination for families and gay/lesbian travelers alike. Visitors from all over the Northeast - New York City, Montreal, Quebec City - journey here to experience the unsurpassed Ogunquit hospitality. At The Morning Dove, guests are free to enjoy their stay as they like, whether it's a refreshing family holiday or a relaxing romantic retreat.
For gay/lesbian travelers, Ogunquit is an open and accepting community whose popularity approaches that of Provincetown and Fire Island. Yet, the town holds firmly to its roots. Locals and visitors may bask in the warm, unpretentious atmosphere which made Ogunquit the all-around haven it is today.
